Jungle Blues by C. W. Stoneking
About the album Jungle Blues
The Australian Christopher William Stoneking, or more briefly C.W. Stoneking, released his fourth career album, Jungle Blues, in 2008. The album consists of ten songs, nine of which are compositions by the artist himself, while Brave Son Of America is written by Wilmoth Houdini. The album was recorded in March 2008.
C.W. Stoneking mixes blues, country blues, and even calypso music on the album, and with his hoarse and rough voice, he creates a record that harks back decades in sound from 2008. The title track of the album was accompanied by a video clip, and one of the best and most well-known moments of Jungle Blues is The Love Me Or Die. The production of the album belongs to C.W. Stoneking himself.
The following year, he won the award for Best Blues and Roots Album from the Australian Recording Industry Association. In Australia, it reached No. 45 on the country's charts.
