About the album Boz Scaggs

Although the album Boz had preceded in 1965 for William Royce "Boz" Scaggs, the 1969 album Boz Scaggs acts as the debut for the guitarist and performer from the State of Ohio.

At the time of its release, Boz Scaggs went almost unnoticed by the general public despite receiving very good reviews. It would take several years for the wider audience to discover it, after the success of the album Silk Degrees in 1976. The 1969 album is a typical blues record that combines elements of americana, rhythm 'n' blues, and country. It consists of nine songs that stand out for the beautiful and simple way they are presented, and much credit for this goes to the album's producer, Jann Wenner. Notable is the twelve-minute-long cover of bluesman Fenton Robinson's Somebody Loan Me A Dime.

In 1969, the year of its release, the album reached No. 171 on the Billboard.
