Happy Holidays by Billy Idol
About the album Happy Holidays
In early December 2006, Billy Idol caused a surprise as the seventh album of his solo career consisted of seventeen covers of Christmas songs and carols (!) The title of the album is Happy Holidays, and it is obvious that it is intended for the Christmas market.
Billy Idol gives us his own version of White Christmas, O Christmas Tree, Frosty The Snowman, Silent Night, and many more. Amongst all these, there are also two new compositions of his own, Happy Holidays and Christmas Love. This Christmas album closes with Auld Lang Syne, a traditional Scottish song sung at the turn of the year, which Idol performs a cappella.
The re-release of the album in 2021 on vinyl includes a new composition, On Christmas Day, but Merry Christmas Baby, Blue Christmas, and Christmas Love are missing.
