About the album Eyes Of The Universe
The British band Barclay James Harvest released their tenth studio album in late 1979. The title of the album is Eyes Of The Universe. The significant change in this album is the absence of keyboardist Stuart "Woolly" Wolstenholme, who had left the group the previous year and was replaced by Kevin McAlea.
The musical style of the album lies in the realm of progressive rock, but now a change and a shift towards art rock is evident. The production of Eyes Of The Universe was done by the group's own members and producer Martin Lawrence. The album consists of eight songs. Four of the compositions belong to John Lees and the other four to Les Holroyd. The standout tracks from the album were Love On The Line, Capricorn, and Rock 'n' Roll Lady. The album cover was created by designer Alwyn Clayden, who worked on a photograph by John Shaw.
As strange as it may sound, Eyes Of The Universe did not have commercial success in Great Britain. On the contrary, the countries that honored this record were France (gold), Germany (platinum), while in Austria it reached No.9 (!)
