About the album Straight Shooter
Straight Shooter was released in 1975 and was the second album for Paul Rodgers and his band Bad Company. The album came following the successful debut of Bad Company as the band wrote and recorded the eight songs of the album just three months after the release of the first album, in September 1974, but it hit the market in April of the following year.
Bad Company comes to confirm that they were not just some random band. All eight songs are a solid sample of blues rock and hard rock music. The first two songs of the album were also its singles, namely Good Lovin' Gone Bad and Feel Like Makin' Love. Here one can also hear the song Shootin’ Star, which Paul Rodgers wrote on the occasion of the untimely death of Jimi Hendrix due to drug use. Bad Company entrusted the design team of Hipgnosis for the album cover.
Straight Shooter reached No. 3 in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Its sales in the U.S. exceeded 3,000,000.
