About the album Audioslave

In 2002, Chris Cornell (from Soundgarden) and the three remaining members of Rage Against The Machine (Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk, and Tom Morello) gathered and formed Audioslave. Their self-titled album would turn the spotlight on them. Although the reviews were not in their favor, Audioslave sold around 3,000,000 copies in the USA and about another 1,000,000 worldwide. It remains the band's most commercially successful album.

The quartet met and wrote twenty-one songs in 19 days. Of these, fourteen were recorded in May and June 2002, and by November, the album was on store shelves.

The sound outcome matches the talent of all involved, while once again the usual suspect Rick Rubin was behind the production, who brought the members of Audioslave together and pushed all four to give their best during the recording.
