They consisted of Michael "Mike D" Diamond, Adam "MCA" Yauch, and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz. Their first album, "Licensed to Ill" (1986), was the first rap album to top the Billboard 200. The Beastie Boys were known for their unique style that combined humorous lyrics with groundbreaking musical innovations. They released many successful albums, such as "Paul's Boutique," "Check Your Head," and "Ill Communication." The band ceased its activities in 2012 following Adam Yauch's death.
