Fantastic by Wham!
About the album Fantastic
The debut of Wham!, which was released in July 1983, although it did not epitomize pop music, became an excellent example of what the new era that was just beginning in the mid-1980s would bring to pop music. Fantastic turned two twenty-year-old boys into superstars, who sang about very simple and everyday themes. On the other hand, George Michael unfolded his talent for the first time in composing pop hits, something he would do again and again in the following years.
All the songs are compositions by George Michael, and this was an agreement between Andrew Ridgeley and George Michael, as the latter saw his friend's talent in writing pop hits. The first single of the record was Wham Rap! (Enjoy What You Do), which had been released a year earlier and went unnoticed. The most successful single of the album was Bad Boys, a single that reached No. 2 in Britain.
In the United States of America, the album was released as Fantastic by the duo WHAM! U.K, because in America there was a band with the name Wham!
