Love Is All Around by War
About the album Love Is All Around
The album Love Is All Around was released in 1976 by ABC Records and is a collection of unreleased recordings from when Eric Burdon was a member of War. The recordings were mainly made at Wally Heider Studios in San Francisco between August 8, 1969, and June 24, 1970. The production was done by Jerry Goldstein.
The album combines funk, soul, rock, and jazz elements with a strong improvisational character. It includes six songs, among them an extensive psychedelic rendition of the Beatles' A Day In The Life and a live recording of the Rolling Stones' Paint It Black. The cover concept belongs to Lee Oskar. It is designed in the style of a newspaper front page with the title "WAR Extra".
The album did not achieve the commercial success of their previous collaborations, as it was considered by many as a release to exploit the then success of War. It reached up to No. 140 on the American Billboard.
