About the album Was (Not Was)
Was (Not Was) was a duo of musicians from Detroit who experimented with Funk music. In 1981 they presented their debut that combines dance music mixed with electronic-experimental sounds.
The album contains political commentary for the era of President Reagan that was just beginning.
The cover of Where Did Your Heart Go? - which musically has nothing to do with the rest of the record - would become a huge hit for Wham! in 1986 through the cover they did for their own album Music from the Edge of Heaven.
