The trio of Violent Femmes from Wisconsin continues its journey with its second album, Hallowed Ground in 1984, which sounds more electric than their first album.
The majority of the songs were written by Gordon Gano (vocals/guitar) at the age of 18, meaning they were written before the songs of their debut.
The lyrics of the songs caused some confusion as some considered them to be truly Christian, while others believed they were ironic and mocking.
