The Blade by Ashley Monroe
About the album The Blade
Ashley Monroe, originating from the State of Tennessee, at the age of 29, presents her third album work in 2015. The album is titled The Blade and earns Monroe a Grammy nomination for the best country album of the year. In fact, this particular album belongs to the subcategory of country music called neotraditional country, a trend that began in the U.S. in the mid-1980s. In the following years, it evolved into “pop-country”.
The Blade, with its thirteen compositions, brings Ashley Monroe to the forefront, who participates as a songwriter in all the tracks of the album except for the titular The Blade. The first single of the album was On To Something Good, followed by Dixie. The album's production is the result of the collaboration between Vince Gill and Justin Niebank. Besides producing, Vince Gill plays acoustic and electric guitar in most of the songs.
The album was released by Warner Bros. Nashville Records and reached No.30 on the Billboard.
