About the album Violent Femmes
The Violent Femmes from the state of Wisconsin dropped the bomb album in 1983 that bears their name as the title and prove that you can play punk with acoustic guitars, violin, and xylophone (!)
Most of the songs are written by Gordon Gano at 18 years old (!). The album was recorded within a month, in July 1982.
The value of this album became apparent over the years. In the U.S., it went gold four years after its release, and it went platinum in 1991.
