About the album Zooropa

The eighth album by U2, Zooropa, received the following prophetic comment from David Bowie: U2 with Zooropa is the only band that hints at what the world will be like after 2000 (!).

U2 incorporates elements from alternative rock, electronic dance music, and industrial music into their sound. To the audience, it sounded like the natural continuation of Achtung Baby. The production of the album features Brian Eno, Flood, and also the Edge. One of the very interesting moments of Zooropa is the song that closes the album, The Wanderer, where we hear Bono singing with Johnny Cash.

Zooropa has sold 7,000,000 copies worldwide. This seems absolutely normal as the album reached No. 1 in eleven countries almost immediately upon its release.
