About the album Do You Believe In Magic
The Canadian-American band Lovin' Spoonful formed in New York in 1964 and the following year released their debut titled Do You Believe In Magic, which was recorded from June to September 1965. The album was released in the U.S. in October 1965, while in the United Kingdom in March 1966, without achieving any particular success.
Lovin' Spoonful combine rock, pop, and folk rock in their album. The first song the band recorded was the title track, which various record companies initially rejected. Eventually, the Kama Sutra label accepted it and released it as a single, which remained in the Top-100 singles for thirteen weeks. The album's producer was Erik Jacobsen.
Do You Believe In Magic reached No. 32 on the Billboard.
