About the album Dare
The Human League band was formed in Sheffield, England in 1977, and by 1981 they were able to release their third studio album titled Dare, an intensely synth-pop album, which had a distinct journey in Great Britain at the time of its release and which offered one of the most well-known hits of the '80s in pop music, Don't You Want Me.
Dare is among the most characteristic and definitive albums of synth-pop music. Behind the entire effort is Philip Oakey, who guided Human League in their early steps. The producer of Dare, alongside Human League, was Martin Rushent.
The album reached No. 1 in the United Kingdom just the second week after its release and managed to sell 900,000,000 copies there alone and remained on the UK charts for 71 weeks. In the U.S., 500,000 copies were sold and another 100,000 copies in Canada.
