About the album Medicine Show

The band Dream Syndicate from Los Angeles returns with their second record in 1984. Medicine Show is an album whose musical style belongs to the emerging - at the time - genre, alternative rock, without ignoring the blues elements that are scattered throughout.

Steve Wynn and his group make sure to create a record very close to the quality of their debut with which they had impressed both audiences and critics. The album was recorded in San Francisco at The Automatt Studio and was one of the last recording works there in early 1984. Seven of the eight songs on the album were compositions by Steve Wynn, while Bullet With My Name On It was the work of the band's guitarist, Karl Precoda. The producer of Medicine Show was Sandy Pearlman, known for his work and collaboration with Blue Öyster Cult (among others).

The second album of Dream Syndicate entered the Billboard Top-200 - even at position No. 171 - which secured them the opportunity to open concerts for U2 and R.E.M. in the USA.
