About the album Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever
The brothers Gary, Ryan, and Ross Jarman from the town of Wakefield in England, known as The Cribs, collaborated with Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand for the production of their third studio album, titled Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever. The album was recorded between the fall of 2006 and the spring of 2007 at the Warehouse Studio in Canada (a studio owned by Bryan Adams) and at Avatar Studios in New York.
Four singles emerged from the album. The first was Men's Needs, which went silver in the United Kingdom and remains the only single from the band to have achieved such success. The other three were Moving Pictures, Women's Needs, and I'm A Realist, all of which managed to enter the Top-40 in the UK.
All the above, along with the experience they gained from recording and performing live, led The Cribs to create an excellent indie rock album, which managed to reach No. 13 in the UK and became gold due to its sales. This success could not be replicated with any other recording work by The Cribs in the future.
