About the album A Walk Across The Rooftops
The Scottish band Blue Nile released their debut album titled A Walk Across The Rooftops in 1984, which went largely unnoticed at the time.
The sound of the album is a very good sample of the sophisti-pop coming out of Great Britain during those years. Slow, melodic, and rhythmic songs, like From Rags To Riches or the more uptempo Stay, are characteristic of the album's sound.
Two of the three band members, Paul Buchanan and Robert Bell, also produced the record. In Britain, it reached No. 80 on the charts.
