0898 Beautiful South  by The Beautiful South

The Beautiful South presented their third album in 1992 titled 0898 Beautiful South. The producer of the album this time would be Jon Kelly.

The number 0898 in the title is the number with which telephone sex hotlines in Britain began at that time. The compositions belong to Paul Heaton and David Rotheray. This album became the last of the Beautiful South in which we hear the voice of Briana Corrigan, who left slightly annoyed by some of the song lyrics, but also because she wanted to start a solo career.

Four singles were released from the album, which did not manage to enter the Top-20 in the United Kingdom except for the single of the song Bell Bottomed Tear. As a result of this "failure," 0898 Beautiful South stopped at No. 4 on the UK's chart, which did not please the band's label.
