Revolver by The Beatles
About the album Revolver
The 1966 album Revolver marked the Beatles' transition into the second phase of their career. The Beatles were now on a different level; the pop days of love and romance songs were behind them. The arrangements were complex, and everything sounded different. Just listening to "Love You To," a song dominated by the traditional Indian instrument sitar, is enough. Revolver is at the heart of the Beatles' psychedelic period.
The Beatles recorded Revolver without any intention of performing its songs live. For this reason, during their time in the recording studio, they experimented with techniques they knew in advance would be impossible to present at a concert. This album pushed the boundaries to other musical limits, which were soon adopted by other bands in England and America. Thirty years later, britpop bands would come to "shamelessly" deconstruct every note and every idea of this album.
The album reached top positions in almost every country. Its sales in the USA have reached 5,000,000 copies.
