About the album The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation
The album The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation is the debut album of the band formed by British drummer Aynsley Dunbar. The album was recorded and released in 1968. It is a blues album in which Dunbar showcases his talent both in playing and composing, as he, along with singer Victor Brox, composed most of the songs on the album.
The songs that stood out from the album are Watchin' Chain, Trouble No More, Roamin' and Ramblin'. The second side of the album has a more jazz-oriented approach. The last track on the second side, Mutiny, is an incredible display of over seven minutes of Aynsley Dunbar's drumming skills.
The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation was released by the American company Liberty Records, while its cover was one of the first works presented by the design team of Hipgnosis. The producer of the album was Ian Samwell.
