About the album Brother Where You Bound
Brother Where You Bound is the eighth studio album released by the band Supertramp, but it is the first after the departure of Roger Hodgson. Thus, Rick Davies takes on the composition of all the songs on the album. The album was released in May 1985, while recordings had started at the end of the previous year.
The album consists of six compositions, which move between progressive pop and simple pop/rock music. Three singles emerged from the album: Cannonball, Still In Love, and Better Days, with the first reaching No. 28 on the Billboard Top-100 and essentially becoming the last major hit in the U.S. for Supertramp. In the song Brother Where You Bound, which lasts over 16 minutes, we hear David Gilmour of Pink Floyd and Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy on guitars.
Brother Where You Bound had a satisfactory performance on the charts in many countries. In the U.S., it reached No. 21, and in the United Kingdom, it reached No. 20. In France and Spain, it reached No. 3, and the album sales in these two countries are estimated at 100,000 and 50,000, respectively.
