Ten Summoner's Tales by Sting
About the album Ten Summoner's Tales
Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner (or more simply Sting) records a series of songs from June to December 1992, which will comprise the fourth album of his solo career. The album will be titled Ten Summoner's Tales and will be released in March 1993. According to the creator's own statement, his main goal was to write a more upbeat album than his previous one.
In this album, Sting presents twelve compositions that walk the line between pop/rock form and jazz rock. He is the composer of all the songs except for two: Shape Of My Heart, which he wrote with his guitarist Dominic Miller, and It's Probably Me, which also bears the signatures of Eric Clapton and Michael Kamen. These two songs, along with five others, comprised the seven singles (!) that emerged from Ten Summoner's Tales.
The success of Ten Summoner's Tales was exceptionally great. It won over both the audience and music critics. It was no coincidence that it was nominated for six Grammy Awards. Its total worldwide sales have exceeded 4,500,000. The album reached No. 2 in both the United Kingdom and the USA.
