Sting, whose real name is Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, was born on October 2, 1951, in Wallsend, England. He is known as a singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. As the lead singer and bassist of the rock band The Police, which he formed in the late 1970s, he gained international fame with hits such as "Roxanne," "Message in a Bottle," and "Every Breath You Take." After the band's breakup in 1986, Sting pursued a successful solo career, exploring various musical genres such as jazz, rock, and classical music. On a personal level, he has released albums such as The Dream of the Blue Turtles (1985), Nothing Like the Sun (1987), and many more that established him as a solo artist. Sting has won numerous awards, including Grammys, and is also known for his charitable work and contribution to social and environmental issues.
