About the album Life
The band Sly And The Family Stone, only four months after the release of their second album, put their third LP titled Life on the market. Life was released in September 1968 and was a record that did not achieve the commercial success it truly deserved.
The group from San Francisco in this record musically moves in its known musical style, balancing between psychedelic soul and psychedelic funk. Behind each of the ten compositions of Life, as composer and producer, is Sylvester Stewart or otherwise Sly Stone. From the album, only the title track was released as a single, but in their live performances for many years, Sly And The Family Stone did not fail to play the songs M'Lady, Fun, and Love City. In fact, M'Lady was the B-side of Life, and it gave the title to the British edition of the album.
Life remained very low on the Billboard, barely reaching No. 195.
