Group
Sly and the Family Stone was a pioneering musical band from the United States, formed in 1966 in San Francisco by Sly Stone. They are considered among the first to bring psychedelia to funk and combined elements of soul, R&B, rock, and orchestral music. The band was known for its multicultural and multiracial composition, something unusual for the time, and its members consisted of white and black artists, men and women. Some of their biggest hits include the songs "Dance to the Music," "Everyday People," and "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)." The band influenced various genres and artists later on, leaving an indelible mark on music history.
