Pro Xristou by Rotting Christ
About the album Pro Xristou
The Greek band Rotting Christ return after a five-year recording absence with Pro Xristou in 2024. Pro Xristou is the fourteenth studio work of the Greek black metal band. In this album, they follow the musical direction they have adopted since 2007, meaning their sound moves in melodic black metal and not the purely black metal that characterized their early recordings.
The album makes an impression right from its cover, which is a part of the painting "The Course of Empire" by the English painter Thomas Cole. The founder and singer Sakis Tolis wanted this cover to reference the sack of Rome in 455 AD by the Vandals and the beginning of its downfall.
From the album, compositions like The Apostate, Pretty World, Pretty Dies, and Pix Lax Dax stood out. The production of the album was handled by Sakis Tolis.
