Non Serviam by Rotting Christ
About the album Non Serviam
The Greek black metal band Rotting Christ from Athens presents its second album in 1994 titled Non Serviam. The Latin title of the album relates to the Devil's refusal to serve God according to biblical texts. With this album, Rotting Christ clearly demonstrates that they have come to stay in the international black metal scene. The production of the album was a personal undertaking of the band, and the recording took place between September and October 1994.
The compositions of Non Serviam are by Sakis Tolis and Patsouris Dimitris, who have adopted the pseudonyms Necromayhem and Mutilator, respectively. This particular album increased the band's reputation, allowing it to extend beyond the borders of their country.
Non Serviam as an album is considered one of the most representative examples of European black metal of the 1990s and beyond.
