Riot has been an American heavy metal band formed in New York in 1975. Their first era - and most successful one - lasted until 1983 during which they released five studio albums, with the first one being Rock City in 1977, which is now a classic heavy metal album of the second half of the 1970s. After their disbandment in 1983, Riot returned towards the end of the 1980s and have since continued to record albums as well as perform live shows.
