About the album Promised Land
The American band Queensryche returns in 1994 with an extremely progressive metal album, Promised Land, a full four years after the success of Empire. During this specific time period, a lot has changed in the metal scene, and things have taken a different turn.
Promised Land is an innovative album for the band from the state of Washington as the band incorporates various new elements into their compositions. For example, Queensryche uses cello, saxophone, and sitar in some of the album's songs. The self-titled eight-minute-long song is the first song credited as being composed by all members of the band.
The album reached No. 3 on the Billboard chart—the highest position Queensryche has ever achieved—and its sales of 1,000,000 made it platinum in their homeland. In Canada, it went gold with sales of 50,000 copies.
