In 1990, Empire is released. The fourth album by the American band Queensrÿche manages to become their most commercially successful album with sales exceeding 3,000,000 copies. In the U.S., it reached No. 7 on the Billboard.
The singer Geoff Tate is at his best, expressively delivering every moment and every composition.
The single Silent Lucidity was the band's biggest commercial success from the state of Washington. It was accompanied by a music video that was greatly supported by MTV and undoubtedly "pushed" the album to success.
