Queensrÿche is an American progressive metal band that was formed in 1980 in Bellevue, Washington. Initially called The Mob, they adopted the name Queensrÿche in 1981. The band became known for their innovative sound, combining elements from heavy metal and progressive rock, and has released numerous albums that have been highly successful. Their album "Operation: Mindcrime" (1988) is considered one of the top concept albums in the history of metal music. Queensrÿche have influenced many artists and continue to be active on the music scene, with new releases and live performances.
