About the album Puressence
The British band Puressence from the Greater Manchester area released their self-titled debut in 1996. Puressence was a step ahead for its time because its sound couldn't be placed within the Britpop scene; it seemed to be preparing the world in the British music scene for the post-Britpop era that would emerge three or four years later.
The album contains songs like I Suppose, Mr Brown, or India, which keep the British indie rock scene at a high level. All the songs resulted from the joint effort of all four members of the band. The first single of the album was Fire. The producer of the album was Clive Martin.
As strange as it sounds, Puressence failed to enter the UK charts (!) and, naturally, its presence in other countries went almost unnoticed.
