About the album Riot City Blues
The band Primal Scream once again changed their musical style with the album Riot City Blues in 2006. They left behind the electronic sound and adopted a garage and blues rock sound, which seems to bring them back to the sound that characterized them as a band about ten years ago. The ten compositions of the album bear the signature of all the members of the group.
The first single from the album was Country Girl, which is the Primal Scream single that reached the highest position (No. 5) on the UK charts in the entire career of the band from Scotland. The other two singles from the album were Dolls (Sweet Rock and Roll) and Sometimes I Feel So Lonely, which didn't achieve much. The production of Riot City Blues was done by Youth, the bassist of Killing Joke.
Riot City Blues reached No. 5 in the UK and went gold due to selling over 100,000 copies in the United Kingdom. In Scotland, the album reached No. 2.
