The band Placebo recorded and released their second studio album, Without You I'm Nothing, in 1998, which remains one of the best in their career. In Without You I'm Nothing, the band showcases their talent in both songwriting and performing. Brian Molko's lyrics are more personal compared to those on their debut, while guitarist Stefan Olsdal delivers a true recital in the way he plays.
The album's producer was Steve Osborne, with whom Placebo were slightly dissatisfied as they did not want a record with so many slow and subdued songs.
