About the album Black Market Music
Black Market Music is the third studio album by Placebo. The album was recorded from the end of 1999 to the middle of 2000. The band's sound here remains in the musical style of the two previous albums, namely alternative rock, while some have described it as glam punk. The album was produced by Paul Corkett, with whom the band had collaborated on their previous album, where he had the role of sound engineer.
Brian Molko himself has stated that Black Market Music as an album is his least favorite from all the band's works. The album's four singles did not manage to enter the Top-10 in Britain.
Black Market Music reached No. 6 in Great Britain and sold 100,000 copies. The major success came in France, where, in addition to reaching the top of the French charts, it sold double the number of copies.
