About the album The Wall
On July 6, 1977, at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Pink Floyd gave yet another concert to promote The Animals. The tour was called In The Flesh. At some point that night, Roger Waters got so annoyed by the noise made by a group of spectators next to the stage that he spat at them. His next thought was: if only there was a wall between me and the fans so they wouldn't bother me! This was the spark that led to the creation and release of the double album The Wall in 1979.
Through this concept album, Roger Waters attempts to talk about and express moments from his life in every aspect and mainly what he had been feeling over the past years, when the enormous success and publicity had surrounded him from all sides. The protagonist of the work is named Pink, a rock star who is preparing to give the show of his life for his life. In this way, Waters wanted to shake off the pressure he was feeling.
The result: The album's sales have exceeded 30,000,000 worldwide and it has also produced the only single in Pink Floyd's career that reached No.1 in the UK, the USA, and many other countries, the single Another Brick In The Wall (Part Two).
