About the album The Division Bell

Pink Floyd released The Division Bell in 1994, marking their fourteenth studio album. The Division Bell is their second work without Roger Waters. Most of the compositions belong to David Gilmour and Richard Wright. For the production of the album, Gilmour collaborated with producer Bob Ezrin.

The title The Division Bell comes from a lyric in the song High Hopes and was suggested by the band's writer and friend Douglas Adams. The iconic cover was the work of Storm Thorgerson, who used these two metal structures, each reaching the height of a double-decker bus, and photographed them in some fields.

The album achieved great success as it reached No.1 in numerous countries around the world. Its sales have reached 12,000,000 copies worldwide. It is the fourth most commercially successful album by Pink Floyd.
