Wild Wood by Paul Weller
About the album Wild Wood
Paul Weller spent April and May of 1993 at The Manor Studio in Oxford, where he recorded his second solo album titled Wild Wood. Here, the former mastermind of the Jam and the Style Council unfolds his talent and creates an album that features a musical style moving between the sound of the two previous bands in which he had starred.
The four singles that emerged from Wild Wood may not have made it into the UK's Top-10, but the positions they occupied were not at all negligible. Hung Up reached No.11, while the single Wild Wood found itself at No.14, one of the best songs Paul Weller has ever written and performed during his entire career.
The album reached No.2 in Great Britain and now counts 300,000 sales of copies. Wild Wood is one of the most commercially successful albums of the British composer and singer.
