About the album Children Of Madness

The heavy metal band Battlezone, led by Paul Di'anno, released its second album titled Children of Madness in August 1987. In Britain, it was released by Powerstation Records, while the album's release in the USA was handled by Shatter Records.

Paul Di'anno, who is one of the three composers of the album's ten songs, gives his best performance since the Iron Maiden days, both in interpretation and song composition. The other two who contribute to the songwriting are guitarist Graham Bath and the band's drummer Steve Hopgood. The album's producer was Ian Richardson.

Children of Madness is a typical NWOBHM, however, it was released at a time when the prevailing trends in the metal community had taken a different path. As a result, the album went unnoticed even by fans of this particular music. If someone thinks that Children of Madness is reminiscent of the first two Iron Maiden albums, he is completely mistaken as the listener of the album gets the impression that they are listening to an album influenced by the sound of Judas Priest.
