About the album The Ultimate Sin
The Ultimate Sin becomes the fourth studio album for Ozzy Osbourne and is released in 1986. This period is particularly turbulent for Ozzy, as his substance dependency is extremely intense, to the point where he has stated that he remembers very little from the recording sessions of the album.
The album has its peculiarities as it is the last one featuring guitarist Jake E. Lee, with whom he had fallen out since he had not been credited with songwriting rights on the previous album. Drummer Randy Castillo makes his first appearance in Ozzy's band, while on bass for this album only is Phil Soussan. The production is by American Ron Nevison, with whom he had never worked before. Under all these circumstances, The Ultimate Sin is a minor feat for having been created.
Despite the fact that The Ultimate Sin is not the best album of his career, it contains one of the most legendary songs of the "Prince of Darkness," which he chose to perform at his last appearance in Birmingham, and that is none other than Shot In The Dark. The album managed to sell 2,000,000 copies in the U.S., while its sales in the United Kingdom reached 60,000.
