Diary Of A Madman

About the album Diary Of A Madman

Ozzy Osbourne seems to continue on the second album of his solo career what he had started on his debut the previous year. Diary Of A Madman was released in 1981 and confirmed that Ozzy could succeed even away from Black Sabbath. Of course, the help on guitar and in composing his songs from Randy Rhoads was more than valuable in order to record one of the hallmark heavy metal albums of the early '80s.

The Diary Of A Madman was the album during the creation of which Sharon Osbourne began to involve herself in the financial and other matters concerning her husband's musical collaborators as his manager. The album was also marked by the tragic death of Rhoads in the USA in March 1982 as they were there for the tour promoting the record.

The album reached No. 14 in the United Kingdom and No. 16 in the United States of America.
