About the album Hotel
Moby recorded the majority of his seventh album in the studio he had in his apartment in New York. Hotel was released in 2005, three years after his previous album. Hotel is an album dominated by electronica, but there are also some elements of alternative rock or even trip-hop.
The big hit of the album was Lift Me Up, the first single from the album released in April 2005, followed by five other singles. In Hotel, one can also hear a "deconstructed" version of New Order's Temptation. The truth is that Hotel failed to convince music critics and did not receive the best reception.
Despite the mediocre reviews it received, Hotel has sold 2,000,000 copies worldwide.
