About the album 18

Richard Melville Hall, or more commonly known as Moby, released 18 in 2002, which is his sixth studio album. Moby was at the peak of his career at the time, after the tour promoting Play, which lasted nearly two years. He simply wanted to offer another enjoyable album to his fans.

Before he began recording material for his new work, he asked his friends in New York, Los Angeles, and London to find and send him records with songs that, in their opinion, had isolated vocals that would impress him. Moby would sample them and use them in his new album. This is how 18 began, which would come as a natural continuation of Play. And for those wondering why the album was titled 18, it was because of the number of tracks it contained (!)

The production could not have been done by anyone other than Moby. 18 has sold 4,000,000 copies worldwide, and it includes one of the best songs of the early new decade, Extreme Ways.
