About the album Back In The USA
Back In The USA by MC5 is one of those albums that advance music, but their contribution is rarely recognized at the time of their initial release. It is an album that begins with a cover of a Little Richard song and ends with a song by Chuck Berry! Although it is not the debut (preceded by the live-recorded Kick Out The Jams), it is the first studio album from the group out of Michigan.
In the production of Back In The USA, we find Jon Landau, who later became the manager and producer of Bruce Springsteen.
This particular album greatly influenced Lemmy of Motorhead! Specifically, the song The Human Being Lawnmower!
