About the album New York Dolls

The New York Dolls with their self-titled debut in 1973 perform a "gathering" of the musical innovative elements prevailing in rock music in the early seventies and present them in an album that at its time probably went unnoticed.

The New York Dolls became a source of inspiration for what would come by the end of the '70s. Their aesthetics greatly influenced the glam metal scene several years later.

Needless to say, at first, only a few took them seriously because of the cover.
