About the album Protection

Massive Attack took three years to present their audience with their second masterpiece, which was called Protection. This happened in 1994.

The group from Bristol not only did not lose the momentum of their first album but also comfortably proved that they deserved all the rave reviews they received and then some. Among those who contributed with their voices were Tricky and Tracey Thorn. The following year after its release, DJ Mad Professor would take on a new and different mix of most of the songs and release No Protection.

The success of the album in Britain and Europe was great, while in the USA it went – rather – unnoticed. Protection went platinum twice in Great Britain.
