About the album Firepower

Glenn Tipton, Rob Halford, and Richie Faulkner contribute their ideas, and the eighteenth studio album by Judas Priest is ready. Firepower was recorded between March and June 2017. The initial intention was to release Firepower on the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, on November 11, as Sea Of Red, which closes the album, is dedicated to this day, but it was finally released in March 2018.

The legendary heavy metal band returns to discography after four years with Firepower, an album that easily claims a place among the best records of the Birmingham group's entire career. Producers Tom Allom and Andy Sneap manage to make Judas Priest perform at 100% of their potential. Judas Priest sound as if they are at the start of their career. Rob Halford has commented that the title expresses the "fire and power" of heavy metal music. The first single from the album was for the song Lightning Strike.

Firepower reached No.5 both in the United Kingdom and in the United States of America. Judas Priest had not seen a studio album of theirs enter the Top-10 of their homeland since the era of British Steel, that is, 1980 (!)
