About the album Angel Of Retribution
Angel Of Retribution is a pivotal point in the history of Judas Priest, as it marked the great return of Rob Halford after a 15-year absence. It was released in February 2005. Angel Of Retribution is their fifteenth studio album and the first with Rob Halford since Painkiller (1990). It was recorded in 2004 with producer Roy Z, who helped bridge the classic sound of Judas Priest with the more modern production that Halford had in his solo works.
The album combines the classic heavy metal of the '70s and '80s with the contemporary sound of the band. It includes fast tracks like Judas Rising, which opens the album, to the epic 13-minute ballad Lochness, which closes Angel Of Retribution. The main single used to promote the album was Revolution. The cover is designed by Mark Wilkinson and depicts the "Angel of Retribution," a figure reminiscent of the "Metal Monster" from the Painkiller album.
The album debuted at No.13 on the Billboard 200 in the USA, while in Greece it reached No.1 on the charts. The release was accompanied by the worldwide Reunited tour.
